POTTERY & GLASS
Marian Pyron
I believe my love of stained glass began when I was a child. The church I attended has the most beautiful stained glass windows. I realized this when I returned for a re-dedication ceremony the church had after having extensive repair work done on the windows. I had moved away and had not been in that church for 25 years. Sitting there studying the windows brought back so many memories of being a small child looking at the scenes depicted in those windows.
I have worked with stained glass off and on for over 30 years. It is the one hobby I always come back to and has been my main focus the last few years. Fusing glass is one aspect I really enjoy. I try to learn something new with each firing and can't wait to open the kiln to see "how this batch came out".
Pottery has always been a close second to glass but I didn't get started in it until around 2009. On occasion I even throw a little stained glass in my pottery for stunning effects!
FROM THERE TO HERE, FROM HERE TO THERE . . .
Where's Marian?
I'm currently working hard in my studio near the Cherokee National Forrest in Tennessee. Stay tuned for any art shows I may attend.

In this day and age people desire customization. Well, you're in luck because I'm in my studio nearly 24/7! If you see something you like, but wish it had a different picture fused in the glass, or a green glaze on the pot instead of blue, just ask! Since I'm here anyway, I can get right to work on it!

MY LATEST OBSESSION
Always restless, I am currently elbow deep in a new clay project. Totem Poles! Hmmm, when I think totem poles, I think, Native Americans, scary looking birds and faces. Well these are not your typical totem poles. I've designed these to complement a flower garden. Instead of scary faces, I've put turtles and lizards and frogs on my pottery. Can't you just imagine how nice these would look nestled in amongst your flowers? Depending on how tall they are they can either blend in, or become a focal point. Or you can put them in an area that needs...a little something. Well, you know what they say, "a picture is worth a thousand words" so here is a link to my etsy page where you can see more pictures of my Garden Totems.
Classy Glass
Woah, dichroic glass! Just look at how it sparkles and shines. Makes for incredible jewelry that will inspire jealousy in your friends. But don't let them get too green. While this exact pair may be gone, I promise you will find another pair equally as beautiful, cause you can't go wrong with dichroic glass! The link takes you to my etsy page where you can check out all that sparkle!
